First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative to Give 500 Displaced Mangu Families N1m Each

The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON has stated that the time of politicking in the Nation is over and time for the prospect seen by the founding fathers of the Nation to materialize.
She made this known when the Wives of Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria paid her a congratulatory visit in her office at the State House, Abuja.
The First Lady pointed out that women have a critical role in bringing healing to the Nation hence the Renewed Hope Initiative RHI reaching out to the displaced people of Mangu in Plateau State.
“Our colonial masters saw a prospect in Nigeria and that is why they brought all of us together. It is time for that prospect to materialize now”.
“When we build lives, we are actually building our nation. Politics is over. Every state we want to really affect. We want to go in there because it is our state. Nigeria belongs to all of us. So when we want to begin politics, everybody will go back to their own tents, but right now, Nigeria is more important. It is more important than any party or any political affiliation”.
It was an opportunity for Senator Oluremi Tinubu to highlight some of the achievements of the Initiative within the first 100 days of President Bola Tinubus administration.
They include award of scholarships to 43 Nigerian Students in tertiary institutions, ICT training and empowerment to women within the FCT among others.
“We have so much work to do together. I expect you all to be available to assist with the work we have to do in Nigeria”.
“There is no gainsaying that families need a better life but how do we go about it? Turning lives around is very important”.
She urged the wives of the Ministers to continue to support their husbands and make them proud at all times.
In her remarks, the leader of the team and wife of the Minister for Petroleum Resources, Mrs Susan Lokpobiri appealed to the First Lady to have their forum participate in the Renewed Hope Initiative RHI, through capacity utilization.
“We will continue to support your dreams for Nigeria and support Mr President in the Renewed Hope Agenda for Nigeria”.
They also congratulated the His Excellency President Bola Tinubu and the First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON for the victory at the Presidential Election Tribunal.

Girl, 14, killed by lion in Kenya
The alarm was raised by another teenager and KWS rangers followed tracks to the nearby Mbagathi River, where they found the primary school girl’s remains.

A 14-year-old girl has been killed by a lion on the outskirts of Nairobi, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) said.
The child was snatched from a residential compound on a ranch next to Nairobi National Park, according to the conservation agency.
The alarm was raised by another teenager and KWS rangers followed tracks to the nearby Mbagathi River, where they found the primary school girl’s remains.
The lion has not been found but KWS said it had set a trap and deployed search teams to look for the animal.

UPDATE: Four-storey building collapses in Lagos (Photos)

A four-storey building has collapsed in Ojodu-Berger area of Lagos, with occupants trapped, and some feared dead.
Panic gripped residents when the uncompleted building suddenly collapsed on Saturday.
The building houses the popular Equal Right Restaurant.
The incident happened at about 11a.m., today.
As of press time, men of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, as well as the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, who had been contacted have arrived at the scene.

BREAKING: Many feared trapped, as Building collapses in Ojodu Lagos

An unspecific number of people are believed to be trapped under an uncompleted storey building which collapsed in Lagos.
The building housing Equal Rights restaurant located at Oremeta Street, Ojodu Lagos, went down on Saturday morning.
It is believed, however, that some people are still trapped underneath the rubble.
