JUST IN: IGP meets Police Mobile Force Commanders Today

The acting Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, is currently meeting with commanders of the 79 Police Mobile Force squadrons at the Force Headquarters, Louis Edet House, Abuja.
All six Deputy Inspectors-General of Police representing the six geopolitical zones of the country in the Police Management Team, including some Assistant Inspectors-General of Police, are also present at the ongoing meeting.
The IG arrived at the meeting at exactly 03:10 pm, two hours behind schedule, as the meeting was earlier slated for 01:00 pm.
The detail of the meeting is yet to be known, but in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer on Sunday, Egbetokun noted that the meeting was in furtherance of his vision and drive to achieving his goal of securing the country, reassured Nigerians of the determination of the Nigeria Police Force to secure lives and properties.

Tanker loaded with LPG summersaults in Ibadan

A tanker transporting twenty-six (26) tons of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) somersaulted on Monday near the Sat Guru Mahraji area, close to the defunct toll plaza along the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.
According to sources, the tanker swerved off the road and overturned on an open stretch of the highway. The incident was confirmed by the Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Hon. Maroof Akinwande.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Akinwande assured that no lives were lost in the accident. He explained that the fire service promptly responded to the scene, using necessary equipment to prevent an explosion and contain the situation.
He said, “Upon arrival, it was a Mack trailer tanker, registration no T25163LA, loaded with twenty-six (26) tons of LPG, that swerved and fell on an open road. Our officers quickly engaged necessary equipment to calm the situation and prevent the tanker from exploding.”
Akinwande added that normal traffic flow had been restored by Tuesday, emphasizing that the tanker was saved without any casualties recorded.

Fans of Seyi Vibez die in fatal accident after Lagos concert (Video)

The young lady who was flunged into the Lagos Lagoon after the fatal accident that occurred on 3rd Mainland Bridge on Sunday night has been buried according to Islamic right.
Ohibaba.com recalls that some fans of Nigerian singer, Seyi Vibez reportedly lost their lives in the fatal accident.
The victims were said to have passed away while returning from the Seyi Vibez concert on Saturday night at Lagos Island.
Sharing the devastating news, an eyewitness, @alli_ya7 posted the video of the incident on X.
While advising the public against reckless driving, she revealed that the victims had engaged in a car race on expressway.
She wrote: “They left the show and started racing on the express, trying to overtake other cars.
Why race on the highway? May their souls rest in peace. SPEED KILLS.
”The fatal incident, which involved more than four vehicles, sparked outrage and grief online.
Meanwhile, five others who died in the crashes were laid to rest at Marikaz Cemetery, Agege, on Monday morning.

Tinubu arrives in Brazil for state visit

President Bola Tinubu arrived in Brasília on Monday to begin a state visit focused on deepening diplomatic and economic relations between Nigeria and Brazil.
He was received at the Brasília Air Base by senior Brazilian officials, including Ambassador Carlos Sérgio Sobral Duarte and Brazil’s ambassador to Nigeria, Carlos José Areias Moreno Garcete. Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu, also welcomed him.
According to Presidential Adviser Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu will be officially received with full military honours at the Planalto Palace, followed by a private meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The two leaders will also oversee the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and address a joint press conference.
Tinubu’s delegation includes ministers, heads of agencies, and private sector leaders who will take part in bilateral meetings. The visit builds on ongoing cooperation in agriculture, defence, and trade, with recent milestones including a defence pact and strategic dialogue framework.
Key initiatives under review include the $1.1 billion Green Imperative Programme and a $2.5 billion investment by Brazilian meat processing giant JBS, both aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s food security and job creation.
This visit follows Tinubu’s recent engagements in Brazil during the BRICS Summit in July 2025 and the G20 Summit in November 2024, highlighting growing ties between the two nations.
