……Denise disrupting Air Peace Operations

Former governor of Edo State and serving Nigerian Senator, Adam Oshiomhole has petitioned the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo , asking the Minister to thoroughly investigate alleged extortion of some passengers including himself at the Lagos Airport on Wednesday by some staff of Air Peace Airlines.

Oshiomhole said contrary to statements by Air Peace that he disrupted its operations, he was merely trying to enforce his rights and those of other citizens, the staff of the airlines company were trying to extort and forced to cough out additional penalty fee of N109 thousand to get on the next flight, al beit for no fault of theirs.

The senator, retraited that after a frustrating encounter with Ibom Air that delayed his trip back to Abuja, he turned to Air Peace Airlines with the hope of enjoying a better experience.

According to the former Governor of Edo State, his hope ended in pains in the hands of Air Peace Airlines staff at the check-in counter.

He said: “Despite arriving the airport at 6am -, thirty minutes before the flight, the airline staff still marked him and other passengers late, insisting that the only way they could get on the next flight is if they paid additional N109, 000.

He said: he rejected attempts by the airline to offer him “special treatment”, pointing out that his disposition to enforce his rights and those of other citizens- including children left stranded at the airport , is why the airlines company is accusing him of disrupting its operations.

With video and text message evidence, Oshiomhole backed his claim of what truly transpired, which he said can be corroborated by the Director of Department of State Services, DSS.

He said it it right on the spot that he quickly sent a text to the Minister of Aviation and formally lodged complaints against the extortion and behavior of the airline staff , asking him to thoroughly investigate the matter.

The senator said he’s delighted that the Minister has quickly responded to the matter, to stop what he described as “hopeless capitalism” and yet allow the people heap the blame on government.
