Leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are already gathering at the party National Secretariat for the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting slated for 11 am.

The Nation reports: “Members of the committee started arriving as early as 8:30 am. 

All roads leading to the venue of the meeting at Blantyre Street have been cordoned off by combined team of armed security men. Vehicular and human movement on Blantyre Street are also restricted.

Early arrivals at the meeting include all National Working Committee (NWC) members, Forum of State Chairmen, former Zamfara Governor Sen. Abdulaziz Yari;  Minister of Budget and National Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President  Kashim Shetimma, Senate President Goodwill Akpabio, and SpeakerTajudeen Abbas are expected to be in attendance.”

Osun Poll: Youths Accuse APC of Vote-Buying in Ejigbo (Video)

Community youths in Ward 4, Unit 13, Iroyin Ayo, Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State have accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of engaging in vote buying during Saturday’s polls.

The allegation was made at the same polling unit where the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, Dr Najeem Salaam, cast his ballot earlier in the day.

According to the youths, the alleged inducement occurred in the vicinity of the polling station. No further details on the nature or scale of the claimed activity were immediately provided.

The claim has not been independently verified. As of the time of filing this report, the APC has not issued a public response to the allegation.

Voting continues across Osun State amid heightened scrutiny of electoral conduct at various polling units.

HAPPENING NOW: Security Beefed up at INEC Office in Osun Ahead of Saturday’s Governorship Election

Security has been significantly intensified at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office along Gbongan-Ibadan Road in Osogbo as Osun State prepares for the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, 15 August 2026.

Large numbers of security personnel, including officers of the Nigeria Police Force, have been sighted on the premises. Preparations for their deployment across the state’s 30 local government areas are ongoing.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner for Osun, Oluwatoyin Babalola, is meeting with National Commissioners and supporting Resident Electoral Commissioners from other states to finalise arrangements for the poll.

Election stakeholders, including representatives of civil society organisations, journalists and observers, are also present at the INEC office.

The election will take place across 3,763 polling units in 332 wards.

INEC has reassured political parties, civil society organisations, media and the good people of Osun State of its total readiness to conduct a free, fair, credible, transparent, and inclusive election.

National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Haruna , gave the assurance , yesterday, disclosing that the ballot papers and result sheets have arrived in Osogbo, the state capital.

They were sent to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) office, from where they will be distributed to other parts of the state.

The ballot papers and result sheets were reprinted following a court judgment which ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to put the name of the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) on the ballot.

With this addition, 15 candidates are now in the race.

The election will hold in 332 wards spread across 30 local government areas, “ he said.
