Governor Soludo welcomes President Tinubu to South-East, hails his Liberal Leadership

In his usual display of regional cooperation and political decorum, Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has expressed a warm welcome to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on his visit to the Southeast region today, January 4, 2025, saluting his liberal leadership style.
The President is in Enugu State to commission developmental projects completed under Governor Peter Mbah’s administration.
Governor Soludo’s welcome gesture underscores his commitment to fostering productive federal-state relations while advancing the interests of the Southeast region.
The visit of President Tinubu to the Southeast for project commissioning demonstrates the federal government’s attention to our region’s development.
In the same vein of goodwill, Governor Soludo has also congratulated his counterpart, Governor Mba of Enugu State on his developmental strides, revealing that they are in tandem with similar positive developments being implemented in Anambra State also.
As President Tinubu commissions projects in neighbouring Enugu State, political observers suggest that Governor Soludo’s balanced approach – embracing federal presence and supporting projects by fellow Southeast governors– could serve as a boost for Southeast regional cooperation in navigating federal-state relations effectively beyond party politics and partisan affiliations.
Social media activist, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has been released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
His release was announced on Wednesday by former presidential candidate and activist, Omoyele Sowore, via his X handle.
“Thanks to unrelenting efforts of all @thatverydarkman has been released from unjust detention at the @officialEFCC.
He is with his ebullient lawyer, @adeyanjudeji,” Sowore tweeted.

The Chairman of Bariga Local Government Area of Lagos State, Kolade Alabi, on Wednesday, suddenly slumped at the All Progressives Congress stakeholders’ meeting held at the party’s Secretariat in Ikeja, the state capital.
Alabi, who is the state chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, was addressing party members when the sad incident happened.
Fortunately, he was subsequently revived and rushed away to the hospital in an ambulance for further treatment.

Herbert Wigwe: Pilot Error Results in Crash
In its final report released on Wednesday, the NTSB said the accident occurred after the pilot continued flying under visual flight rules (VFR) into weather conditions that required instrument flight protocols.
The United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has concluded that the helicopter crash which claimed the lives of former Access Holdings CEO, Herbert Wigwe, his wife, son, and three others in February 2024 was caused by pilot error stemming from spatial disorientation.
In its final report released on Wednesday, the NTSB said the accident occurred after the pilot continued flying under visual flight rules (VFR) into weather conditions that required instrument flight protocols.
“The pilot’s decision to continue the visual flight rules flight into instrument meteorological conditions, which resulted in the pilot’s spatial disorientation and loss of control,” was cited as the probable cause of the crash.
