“Rescue My People” –  Senator Monguno Cries Out to Military

Published

on

Senate Chief Whip , Mohammed Monguno raised the alarm about Boko Haram’s new wave of terror in GUZAMALA and other nearby Local Government Areas where the group has seized total control, operating without any hinderance.

Monguno,  made the plea today when  the Senate deliberated extensively on the troubling issue of insecurity in the country, especially the resurgence of Boko Haram fighters in the parts of the Northeast where Boko Haram fighters are gaining new grounds.

Monguno lamented that even his own local government , MONGUNO is at risk and calls on the military to come to the aid of his people.

During the deliberation, Senator Sunday Karimi from Kogi West, suggested to his colleagues that part of their zonal intervention funds should be spent on securing their constituencies.

He also called on Senators in Borno State who know the terrain to follow in the footsteps of the Chadian President to lead the Nigerian military in battle to dislodge Boko Haram in the Northeast.

Others like Senator Ned Nwoko think the solution lies in tackling the massive poverty -and other factors of inequality that could be fueling growing agitations in the country.

At the end of their deliberation, the Senators adopted the prayers in the motion, asking the military to establish a super camp in Guzamala and mobilize troops to secure Abadam and other affected areas threatened by Boko Haram insurgents.
